The paper examines the growth performance of oilseeds in Bundelkhand region of UP state during last 20 years (2000-20). The region is an important oilseed producing region of the state accounting for about 30 percent of the total area (ha) coverage in Uttar Pradesh. The temporal analysis revealed that oilseed crops in the region witnessed positive growth rate in overall area (8.70%), production (6.85%) and productivity (1.56%) during the overall study period (2000-20). The instability of overall area, production and productivity of oilseed crops was observed to be medium in the region. Among all the oilseed crops cultivated in the region, sesame recorded highest annual increase in area (15.85%), production (18.21%) and productivity (2.99%) during 2000-2020. In contrast, linseed recorded highest decline rate with respect to area (-3.15%) and production (-1.65%), while groundnut registered highest decline rate with respect to productivity (-2.83%) in the region during last two decade. District wise analysis showed that among all the oilseed crops, sesame recorded highest growth rate in area and production in all the districts of Bundelkhand region of UP state except Lalitpur and Chitrakoot districts. In contrast, area coverage under linseed registered decline in all the districts of Bundelkhand region, while production also followed the suite except for Mahoba and Banda districts.
