Abstract

In a bid to augment the production and productivity of oilseed crop, Cluster Frontline Demonstration was conducted on major oilseed crops at different KVKs of Odisha and West Bengal at the behest of Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Govt. of India and Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi. The present study aims at analysing the performance of the demonstration conducted on Dharani variety of groundnut during rabi season for the period of 2018-22 in the states of Odisha and West Bengal. The study also assesses in vitro performance of CFLD programme carried out for a substantial period of time. The parameters included were yield performance, nutritional advantage, technology gap, extension gap and technology index. The technology gap, extension gap and technology index were in the range of 13.75 q ha-1, 9.39 q ha-1 and 31.98 per cent, respectively. Yield enhancement to the extent of 46.83 percent was also recorded followed by 2.04 benefit cost ratio. In addition to better yield realization the programme of CFLD on groundnut may also attribute production of quality seed vis-à-vis improved management practices for its adoption/continuation in larger areas also.
