The present study was conducted in the Kashmir division of the Union Territory Jammu and Kashmir during the year 2019-20. The study examines the training needs of extension functionaries in three departments viz agriculture, horticulture and animal husbandry with a total of 110 extension functionaries and revealed that the extension functionaries have medium training needs. Further the TIS and ATIS were calculated and it was found that the most important area was agronomy (1.52) in agriculture sector; fruit science (1.57), floriculture and landscape architecture (1.57) in horticulture sector; veterinary reproduction and gynaecology (1.56) in animal husbandry sector.
