Organizational culture is a framework of common assumptions, values, and beliefs that dictates how organization treats individuals. Present study was conducted to assess the organizational culture as perceived by a randomly selected 180 agriculture officers working in public sector banks under Durgapur circle in the state of West Bengal. Organizational culture was assessed based on its six domains, viz. innovation and risk taking, attention to detail, people orientation, team orientation, aggressiveness, and stability, which included 14 aspects on which responses of the selected agriculture officers were obtained on a 5-point continuum. A high mean score with low standard deviation was observed indicating that the organizational culture in the banking sector was perceived well-defined and strong. The significant differences between the group of agriculture officers based on their duration of service in the banks was observed through ANOVA and post hoc tests that needs to be addressed by the management in order to create a more cohesive and thriving work culture that aligns with the values and expectations of different groups of employees. Present study provides the impetus in improving organizational culture in banking sector, which plays an important role in providing financial support to the farmers and implementing different schemes for agricultural development.
