Agricultural extension methods have undergone several historical and strategic changes from their inception to the present. The majority of methods used are technology-driven, sharing knowledge, capacity development and focused on how farmers behave during the adoption process. Farmers’ income-oriented tactics have taken precedence over production-oriented ones in recent decades, yet they are still racing to meet the target, highlighting a flaw in the current system. A creative solution to make the task easier can be observed in the consumer-led agricultural extension strategy, wherein agricultural extension services are customised to match consumers’ or endusers’ unique needs and preferences. It entails involving customers in decision-making processes, embracing technology, and creating value chains in the agricultural industry. Extension services in this area aim to guarantee that agricultural goods satisfy quality requirements, answer consumer concerns about food safety, nutrition, and sustainability, and correspond with market demands and consumer preferences. It offers market information and intelligence to farmers and agribusiness owners, such as consumer trends, market prices, product requirements, and quality standards, enabling them to make well-informed choices regarding crop selection, product diversification, packaging, branding, and marketing tactics. The active engagement and interaction between farmers, extension agents, and consumers facilitate the creation of feedback loops and co-creating solutions, like developing new products or services and improving existing agricultural practices to meet consumer expectations better. This is also helpful for raising consumer knowledge and understanding of agricultural practices, which enables consumers to make wise decisions, recognise the value of sustainable agricultural practices, and help fuel market demand for agricultural products that are socially and environmentally responsible.

I am happy to inform our readers that the most profound research findings showcase an excellent collection of scholarly articles from interdisciplinary domains available in the current edition of the MOBILISATION journal. The articles in this issue represent the cutting-edge work being done by our distinguished colleagues, ranging from ground-breaking research to intriguing theoretical viewpoints. Contact methods utilisation by agricultural extension personnel for transfer of technology, feedback behaviour of the farmers, feedback behaviour of the farmers, buying practices followed by homemakers, entrepreneurship development in dairy, mushroom cultivation, backyard poultry farming, et., green marketing behaviour of consumers, awareness mapping of national agriculture market (e-NAM) provisions, localite information ecosystem and farm enterprise, impact assessment, gender and intra-household inequality studies, farmer’s knowledge about improved technology, field experiment research showing yield gaps, study on internet and social media use etc., are some of the topics included in this issue.
