Kisan Credit Card scheme was introduced in 1998 with a motive that farmers can get institutional credit in a convenient manner so that they become able to use better quality of seeds, fertilizers, machinery and can able to enhance their production level and hence their income. This research paper examined the utilization pattern of amount sanctioned under Kisan Credit Card scheme in various farm and non-farm activities by the farmers in Haryana. The study concludes that High share of the total amount sanctioned under Kisan Credit Card scheme was found to be utilized by farmers in purchase of machinery and maintenance (41.05%) followed by crop production activities (35.35%), dairy enterprise (11.08%) and high value crops (3.16%). Only 9.26 per cent of total amount sanctioned used for non-agricultural purposes by the farmers. The study also reported that utilization of KCC credit was lowest for payment for crop insurance.
