Abstract

A total of 59 no’s frontline demonstrations were conducted on performance of short duration rice varieties (viz., RNR 15048, KNM 118, DRR Dhan-45, DRR-Dhan-44, JGL 18047, BRRI Dhan -75, RP Bio-226) against check BPT 5204 under irrigated conditions of Nagajunasagar Ayacut area of Nalgonda District, Telangana during kharif 2017-18 to 2019-20. The average yield of rice varieties varied from 6610.0 kg/ha to 5365.0 kg/ha. Among the high yielding short duration rice varieties JGL 18047 (6610.0 kg/ha) recorded non-significantly higher yield followed by KNM 118 (6498.3 kg/ha), RP Bio-226 (6350.0 kg/ha), BRRI Dhan 75 (6300.0 kg/ha), RNR 15048 (5969.4 kg/ha) and DRR Dhan-45 (5950.0 kg/ha) with percent an increase of 13.3, 11.4, 8.9, 8.0, 2.3 and 2.0 per cent, respectively as compared to local check BPT 5204 (5833.0 kg/ha) during the study period. The rice variety DRR Dhan-44 with per cent decrease of -8.0 per cent over the local check. Technology gap in different rice varieties were ranged between -1600.0 kg/ha to 1530.6 kg/ ha. The highest technology gap was observed in RNR 15048 and lowest on RP Bio 226. Extension gap varied from -468.3 kg/ha to 776.7 kg/ha with highest gap in JGL 18047 and lowest gap in DRR Dhan-44. The technology index varied between -33.7 to 20.4 per cent and was the highest in RP Bio-226 and lowest in RNR 15048.
