Abstract

The present investigation entitled, Evaluation of floral characters, quality trait and economics of different dahlia hybrids under Prayagraj agro climatic conditions was under taken in the Department of Horticulture, Naini Agriculture Institute, Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology And Sciences, Prayagraj, U.P. during winter season (2022 to 2023). The experiment was laid out with nine hybrids, viz., Pue Shina, Eternity, Ripsita, Shching, Bharati, Donald Wand Mark, Chandra Vaga, Hirendranath and Mahakaali each replicated thrice in Randomized Block Design. Among the nine hybrids, hybrid Chandra Vaga (H7) reported significantly better performance in terms of floral parameters like days taken for first bud initiation (61.97 days), days taken for complete flower opening (84.87 days), flower diameter (22.23 cm), flower stalk length (39.83 cm), quality trait like vase life (10.50 days) and also in terms of economics, gross returns (1149600 INR/ha), net returns (678974 INR/ha) and benefit cost ratio (3.10).
