Protective functional clothing combat the occupational health risks associated with farming and related tasks. An intervention on protective functional clothing developed by UAS, Dharwad was given involving 30 women at an adopted Village Dhehari in the Jayal Block of Nagaur District, in order to assess the efficacy of protective functional clothing in Cluster bean, Pearl millet crop, Mung bean and Moth bean crops. Protective functional clothing for farm operations and related task included apron, hand gloves, headgear, and mask. The appropriateness and acceptability of functional garments were evaluated using pre- and post-planned schedules. Farm workers’ occupational health risks were lowered and their work productivity was boosted by specially designed functional apparel.
