Abstract

This study was conducted in 2020–2021 to examine the perceived constraints faced by the women dairy farmers in the Sepahijala district of Tripura by using principal component analysis. We extracted a few components whose eigenvalue is greater than one capturer the most variance and the following components capture the next highest variance and so on, under the constraint that all components are always orthogonal. Two components are extracted from financial constraint and marketing constraint named credit availability, liability, and proper knowledge, product price, management constraint, production and labour constraint, decision making constraint, two components are extracted from personal/general constraints named physical problems and cooperation. Overall constraints are further named as financial, resource availability, liability, physical/capital, and miscellaneous.
