Abstract

250 small and marginal tribal farmers in the state of Madhya Pradesh who practice integrated farming systems were the focus of research to determine whether their standard of living had improved. With the use of an organized and face-to-face interview schedule, selected IFS practicing farmers were personally interviewed. By stabilizing the intensification of crops and allied enterprises, an appropriate integrated farming system offers the chance to boost economic opportunity for small and marginal tribal farmers. Additionally, it will consist of information on profitability, sustainability, a healthy diet, environmental safety, throughout-the-year growth in revenue, creating employment, and fuel-related issues, among other things., The associated farmers’ growth is going to be enhanced by these farming techniques. Waste materials are efficiently recycled in IFS by taking into account the right components. Therefore, the variables reducing environmental pollution, recycling products, by-products, and waste materials in integrated farming systems are what make agricultural systems sustainable. The related farmers’ growth will be accelerated by these farming techniques. The integration of different enterprises like crop production, dairy, poultry, goat rearing, fisheries, etc., gives tribal farmers throughout the year nutritional security and income generation. Combining crop + dairy farming would greatly raise the labour need and significantly decrease the issues with generating employment. Therefore, an integrated farming system offers all-year family labourers new business opportunities for employment and sustainable livelihood development. The main issues for agricultural sustainability are nutritional security and environmental security. The best strategy to encourage the proper use of the existing natural resources and environmental conservation for economic development is to integrate various businesses. An appropriate integrated farming system diversifies farm output, boosts income, creates jobs, enhances nutritional safety, and encourages nutrient uptake.
