Abstract

The livelihood security of farm women in Punjab, India, remains a complex and multifaceted issue influenced by various socio-economic factors, agricultural policies, and cultural norms Farm women are disproportionately affected by these sustainability challenges, as they bear the brunt of resource constraints and health risks associated with pesticide exposure and water contamination. Access to healthcare services, nutrition, and reproductive health remains a significant concern for farm women in Punjab. Limited availability of healthcare facilities, inadequate sanitation infrastructure, and cultural barriers to seeking medical care contribute to high maternal mortality rates, malnutrition, and health disparities among women in rural areas. The present paper attempts to present the findings of the research project entitled ‘Standardization of Techniques For Livelihood Analysis and Women Empowerment in different Agro-Ecological Zones’ under AICRP-WIA in context to Food, Nutrition and Health security of farm women in Punjab. The findings of the study revealed moderate levels of food and nutrition and health security among farm women. The study also highlights the prevalence of meal skipping, with a significant portion of respondents experiencing challenges in accessing an adequate number of meals daily. No special diet during pregnancy was present among majority and low The dietary diversification.
