Abstract

Handmade jewellery is a unique form of artistic expression that embodies originality and skill. The objective of the present study was to develop skills among rural women through the development of handmade Jewellery. The researcher developed a booklet and video entitled “Handmade Jewellery: A Step-by-Step Guide,” and a video demonstrating the process of making handmade jewellery was uploaded on YouTube by the researcher. A purposive random sample of 30 respondents was selected from “Nela Village,” a nearby Udaipur location. Respondents received one-month training. A self-developed skill assessment test was used. The result obtained by the skill assessment test revealed that 92.82 per cent of the possible marks were for their overall skill development in making handmade jewellery. The respondents fell into the “excellent” category. These results underscore the significant impact of the training program on skill development. The women’s strong ability to grasp new concepts and high motivation levels contribute to their high scores. Their willingness to learn new skills to improve their livelihoods played a crucial role in their successful training outcomes. It is recommended that they will become more independent and capable of contributing significantly to their households and communities. The doors to entrepreneurship and financial stability open widely, offering them opportunities to grow.
