Enhancing productivity of clusterbean through front line demonstration in water stress condition of Nagaur district of Rajasthan

Keeping in view of an effective approach of frontline demonstration for transfer of technology in clusterbean the frontline demonstrations were conducted by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Maulasar, Nagaur-II during kharif, 2017-2019 in Dabra village of Maulasar bock. There was total 60 demonstrations on clusterbean crop were laid out in area of 24 ha by using farmer participatory mode with the objective to demonstrate the improved variety (RGC-1038/RGC-1033) of clusterbean with other technologies in water stress conditions of Nagaur district. Under demonstration the improved practices like sowing of improved variety, seed treatment with fungicide & biofertilizers, line sowing by ferti-seed drill, INM and weed management. The demonstrated plot observed 21.99 per cent higher seed yield in tune of 8.46 q ha^-1 as compared to local check (6.90 q ha^-1). Technology gap, extension gap and the technology index values in demonstrated plot were 6.88 q ha^-1, 1.56 q ha^-1 and 44.90 per cent, respectively. The net returns and benefit cost ratio (Rs. 24125 ha^-1 and 2.23) was observed higher under demonstrated plot against local check (Rs. 17940 ha^-1 and 1.94).
