Abstract

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) is an innovative science based institution which conducts OFT for technology assessment and refinement; and FLD to promptly demonstrate the latest agricultural technologies to the farmers as well as the extension workers in India. The current study was conducted in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh state during 2021-22 to assess the perception of beneficiaries towards technological demonstrations conducted by KVK. The study was conducted with 110 beneficiaries by using proportionate random sampling in 6 villages under 3 blocks. The findings of the study revealed that the majority 47.27 per cent of the beneficiaries had a less favourable perception towards On Farm Trials and 52.74 per cent of the beneficiaries had a more favourable perception towards Front Line Demonstration conducted by KVK. Based on the findings of the study, it can be concluded that KVK changed the perspective of the tribal farmers from traditional to modern technologies, which helped in uplifting their economic status and enhancing their knowledge level.
