This paper assesses extension professionals’ perception of ten dimensions of the internal working environment in district-level agricultural extension organisations. Appropriate scales from existing literature were employed to measure the constructs within each dimension, and data was collected through a structured and pre-tested survey instrument. Non-parametric statistical tests were utilized to analyse the ordinal data. Results indicate that extension professionals perceive a higher level of job satisfaction at the extension center. However, addressing the poor work-life balance is crucial for the long-term effectiveness of any agricultural extension organisation.
