The present study was a part of an action research project. The study was conducted in the adopted village namely Embur in Palghar Tahsil of Thane district of Konkan region of Maharashtra State by interviewing 79 farmers, farm women and farm youth who attended the training programmers. At overall level it is observed that 64.56 per cent and 72.15 per cent farmers had ‘medium’ level of knowledge level before and after training respectively. At overall level farmers had faced major constraints like ‘Non availability of inputs like improved seeds, fertilizers, growth regulators, etc.’, ‘Lack of information about application of growth regulator, insecticides, fungicides in proper concentrations’. At overall level the farmers reported major suggestions like ‘special booklet containing information on list of insecticides, fungicides, growth regulators, fertilizers with their trade names, methods of formulation and stages of application for vegetable crops be made available for ready reference’, ‘soil testing facility should be available.
