Abstract

The yield gap analysis for major oilseed crops in India was done using the Front-Line Demonstrations data conducted under the All-India Coordinated Research Projects on different oilseed crops in various states. The yield gap between on–farm demonstrations and actual farm yield has failed to show appreciable reduction over the past two decades. However, the gap between potential yield of varieties and research station yield has increased over time. This gap calls for a on farm assessment of the production technology developed for the individual oilseedcrops besides ensuring the requirements of production inputs related packages and knowledge to minimize yield gap I and yield gap II.
