With the liberalization and globalization of economy, India's economy is bound to grow at faster pace in the coming years. This would in turn increase the demand for access to higher education. This demand will receive a further fillip with the execution of government policy of eradication of poverty and universalisation of elementary education. With globalization, higher education has moved away from traditional concept and acquired new dimensions. This article tries to critically analyse the shortcomings in the present system as also throws light on the current happenings in higher education due to Globalization in Indian context.
