Contemporary organizations face constant pressure to enhance levels of service and productivity whilst also improving levels of cost efficiency. The volatility of external environment and rapid pace of technological change increasingly demand innovative means of improving business performance and securing competitive advantage. In this article, the various characters have been analyzedand theoretical perspectives and studies that relate to organization designs which are conducive for innovation. Three major determinants have emerged from this study. These are strategy pertaining to innovations, communication and flexible structure of the organization. Implications of these factors are discussed in the paper and future research recommendations are also proposed. An extensive review of literature has been done to extract some guidelines which can be beneficial for organizations striving to adapt an organizational form which boosts innovation in the organization.
