This research primarily aims at ascertaining the effect of social media addictiveness on academic performance. It also describes the relationship between the various demographic factors and social media usage pattern. Primary data required for testing the hypothesis is collected with the help of structured questionnaire forwarded with the help of Google Forms. The secondary data is also collected from various sources such as reference books, thesis, dissertations, journals, research papers, newspapers, reports, websites etc. The data as collected is analyzed with the help of SPSS 20. According to this research it is clear that the social media usage has negative impact on academic performance of students.
