The role and contribution of women in the economic value chain of the country are rarely recognized or acknowledged. A number of corporate Indian women have achieved leadership positions and have done us proud both at home and across the seas. But despite all this, women employees continue to be haunted by problems like discrimination, sexual harassment, indifference and insensitivity. In fact, business world is becoming more critical, unsure and more conflict ridden, so the requirement of leaders proliferates. Attitudinal and organizational prejudices have been preventing deserving women managers to executive positions in many Indian organizations. The present-day women have emerged as winners and have proved that they are better equipped to take on challenges. The style of management used by women is more suitable for the organizations of the future. So the organizations need to devise strategies to retain talented, innovative, rational, upbeat and business-savvy women.
