Abstract

Job satisfaction has been the matter of growing interest for the individuals concerned with the quality of working life and organizational efficiency. The consequences of job satisfaction are very much important to an organization in terms of its efficiency, productivity, employee relations, absenteeism and turnover and to an employee in terms of their health and well being. Private organizations play a vital role in economic development of the country. The employees should be highly qualified for all organizations, especially for the productive organizations. But the performance of the employees depends upon satisfaction, security, behavior of superior, mode of higher authority etc. Job satisfaction are the function of the perceived relationship between what one expects and obtains from one's job and how much importance or value he attributes to it. The present study is an attempt to obtain a better understanding about the causes of job satisfaction. From this study it is revealed that overall job satisfaction of the company is not up to the mark for productivity. To overcome the problem, the company should ensure job satisfaction through providing salary structure up to the mark, job security, fringe benefits, reward for better performance, promotion based on performance and efficiency, compliance work environment etc. Considering these inconclusive findings, the researchers have stressed the need for further study from a wide variety of settings before the generalization of the findings)
