Abstract

This research paper primarily analyzes the actual and potential excellence and growth of Twin Engineers Pvt. Ltd (Adhesive Dispensing Machines Manufacturers) through the application of the EFQM Model of excellence. As its methodological basis, the paper is empirical and theoretical in its progression. The primary data is collected through the questionnaire and the secondary data pertaining to the performance indicators as specified by the Model has been obtained from the financial documents of the Company over a period of the last five years. For just comparison purpose the past data (2003–07) is also used. The paper has progressed through three different parts starting from its theoretical framework of the nature of the EFQM Model and its applicability to Twin Engineers’ quality excellence processes leading to the last part where a critical analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of the Company have been examined through the five aspects of performance discussed by the Model. Company's local excellence and its potential global growth have been examined through the five enablers (such as leadership, policy and strategy, people, partnerships and resources and processes) specified by the EFQM excellence model. This paper has discovered that there is sufficient room and reasons for the direct applicability of this model to understand the ‘excellence processes’ of Twin Engineers. The paper has further concluded that the Company needs to put in more organized efforts so far as the performance of enablers such as leadership, people and policy and strategy is concerned.
