Gender is the biological sex that differentiates a male and female. It can also be termed as a range of biological, physical, mental and behavior characteristics of male and female or being masculine or feminine. Gender can also be termed as a social stratum, similar to any other strata like age, race, class and sexuality. There are various aspects, situations and reasons for discrimination in gender. The present paper attempts to find out whether such discrimination exists at campus recruitment or not. The campus recruitment is one of the modes of recruitments for selection of candidates for jobs by the corporate sector. The present study is based on C.R. information and data collected from students and professional colleges in Pune for the period from 2009 – 2013. The study is important from the point of view of new direction of “diverse workforce” recruitment policies of the companies.
