Quality Of Work Life, Employee Commitment And Organization Citizenship Behavior (A Study Of IT Professionals In Odisha)

Abstract

In the era of globalization, QWL has been evolved as an important aspect in every organization. Organizations across the globe are working hard towards improving the work life and to keep their employees contended and delighted. QWL creates conducive working environment to learn, grow, live and enjoy by fullest utilization of human potentiality that increases employee commitment (EC) and loyalty and propel them to exhibit organization citizenship behavior (OCB) in pursuit of the organizational goals. These behaviors motivate employees to show over duties and contextual performance beyond the call of the duty. This paper is an attempt to analyze the perception of QWL and its effect on EC as well as on OCB independently and combined effect of QWL and EC on OCB among IT professionals of Odisha. This study finds a positive correlation among dimensions of quality of work life (QWL) employee commitment (EC) and organizational citizenship behaviour (OCB).
