Understanding individual retirement planning behaviour: An evidence from survey data

Abstract

The study is an explanatory research intended to determine the various objectives of retirement planning and investment preferences towards the various asset classes to achieve those retirement objectives. The study establishes the relationship between the retirement planning and the different factors affecting the retirement planning. A total of 1144 working individuals of different age groups had participated in this study. The results identified several significant variables in the prediction of working individuals’ retirement planning objectives and investment preferences towards asset classes including age, occupation and income level. The result of the study will be helpful to understand the retirement objectives and preferences of the working.
