Abstract

Studies were conducted to find out adoption of different nutritional, health and hygienic practices by slum dwellers interviewing 275 beneficiaries and 75 nonbeneficiaries from slums of Parbhani Muncipal Council. The findings revealed that the beneficiaries were significantly differing from non-beneficiaries in adoption of different nutritional, health and hygienic practises. Education, awareness about UBSP and participation in UBSP activities were positively related with adoption by beneficiaries whereas education, annual income and mass media use were positively significantly related with adoption by non-beneficiaries.
