One hundred toddlers mental and psychomotor development were assessed using BSID. Home inventory was used for assessing the environment provided to the toddlers at home. Significantly a higher percentage of the toddlers of the graduate mothers recorded to have above normal level of mental development as compared to their counterparts of the non-graduate mothers. However such significant differences was not found with regard to their psychomotor development. The graduate mothers recorded to have provided more congenial home environment for nurturing toddlers development as compared to the non-graduate mothers. Home environment, paternal occupation, maternal education, family income as well as toddlers age, nutritional status and gender found to play positively significant role in mental and psychomotor development of toddlers.
