Abstract

The present investigation was undertaken in the three agro-dimatic zones of Maharashtra underlying Marathwada Agricultural University, Parbhani, to know the decision making pattern of rural women with respect to three major areas - farm, animal husbandry and home and family. Total 3000 rural women belonging to five distinct landholding categories were interviewed personally with the help of structured interview schedule. The collected information was analyzed by using simple frequency percentages. Independent male decision was prominent in both farming as well as animal husbandry. Whereas in the area of home and family, joint decision figured at the top showing greater partnersilip between male and female members. However, male members exercised greater dominance over female in all the three areas.
