Abstract

AI records of 138 sires and 1239 dams of Murrah buffaloes for a period of 25 years (1980 to 2004) were analyzed. The overall mean conception rate was 0.3319±0.033. The means of conception rates among the periods, seasons, semen types and order of service ranged from were 0.2465±0.050 to 0.5462±0.043; 3176±0.035 to 0.3515±0.035; 0.2989±0.031 to 0.3649± 0.039 and 0.1557±0.073 to 0.4879±0.024, respectively. The effects of period, type of semen and order of service of dam were significant (P<0.05) on conception rate of buffaloes.
