The study was conducted in Shivalik Foothills regions of Haryana during 2004 to assess the comparative adoption level of watershed and non-watershed farmers regarding improved animal husbandry practices. The study revealed that in watershed villages most of the respondents (52.50%) possessed medium level of adoption followed by high (31.25%) and low (16.25%), whereas in nonwatershed villages, half (50.00%) of the respondents had medium level of adoption followed by high (26.25%) and low (23.75%) levels of adoption. The overall adoption level with regard to improved animal husbandry practices in watershed villages was to the extent of 56.26 per cent as compare to 52.02 per cent in case of non-watershed villages. Correlation coefficient of respondents' antecedent variables and their adoption level about improved animal husbandry practices indicated that variables like education, socio-economic status and extension contact of watershed farmers established positive and significant correlation with adoption level of improved animal husbandry practices.
