Abstract

The data pertaining to 303 Murrah buffaloes calving from 1989 to 1999, maintained at NDRI, Kamal, Haryana, were coilected for the study. Heritability and repeatability estimates, genetic and phenotypic correlations among different traits were calculated. TMY, 305MY and SY had moderate estimates of heritability while the other constituents traits had low values of heritability. Repeatability estimates of milk yield, lactational milk constituents and constituent yields ranged from 0.12 to 0.38, 0.08 to 0.19 and 0.10 to 0.31, respectively. Genetk and phenotypic correlations were positive and significant for some of the traits.
