The study revealed that most discernible increase in technical knowledge has occurred in the practice of feeding mineral mixture (12.44% in 2001–02 to 30.42% in 2003–04) and concentrate feeding (58.55% in 2001–02 to 11.68% in 2003–04). There was substantial reduction in number of fanners who had no knowledge about deworming (12% in 2001–02 to nil in 2003–04), urea treatment of roughage (62.69% in 2001–02 to 32.81% in 2003–04) and feeding of mineral mixture (30.05% in 2001–02 to 11.19% in 2003–04). It was also revealed that there was significant increase in the number of farmers in fully adopted categories in feeding of mineral mixtures (nil in 2001–02 to 22% in 2003–04), vaccination (49% in 2001–02 to 62% in 2003–04) and deworming (10% in 2001–02 to 21% in 2003–04). Thus the study concludes that more attention needs to be focused in any such future programmes in such areas as urea treatment of roughages, use of high yielding fodder seeds, artificial insemination and feeding of mineral mixture for ensuring greater degree of adoption of such practices.
