A study on academic achievement as a function of curiosity in late childhood

Our knowledge began with an expression of curiosity. History is also evident that the development of man's civilization from Stone Age to modern space age is the story of his curiosity. Fifty boys and fifty girls in their late childhood were randomly selected from different school of Anpara city. Children curiosity scales were administered to find out their curiosity level. Annual results of previous two years were collected to analyse their academic achievements. The results revealed that in case of boys, there was a significant difference as the calculated value of ϰ² is 11.09 greater than table value of ϰ² at 5% probability level when compared to girls between curiosity and academic achievement whose calculated value of ϰ² is 2.499 less than table value of ϰ² at 5% probability level.
