The study was undertaken with the overall goal of understanding the existing institutional facilities available for the care of the elderly in the state of Uttarakhand and to obtain a perspective of the elderly on various aspects associated with institutional living. The purposive random sampling was chosen for selection of area and samples. Descriptive data were collected from randomly selected four old age homes. The infrastructural facilities in the old age homes were quantified by assigning scores. The scores were interpreted such that higher the score the greater the infrastructural facilities available. The findings depicted that II and IV in appropriate while I and III old age homes have appropriate infrastructural facilities. The scores were highest in III old age home which showed that the infrastructural facilities was superior followed by Ist old age home, while lowest facilities were available in II old age home as it was free of cost. The management and ensuring good service provision can be affected by inadequate staff, infrastructural facilities, and funds.
