Abstract

Data obtained from interview of 322 rural families around Veterinary Faculty, Kashmir revealed that most of the farmers were medium milk producers (7.14 l/day/family) and marginal farmers (with 0.67 acres of land per family). They generally owned quality dairy cattle. Proper education of the farmers regarding managemental practices and disease prevention of their livestock was needed for enhancing milk production.
