A study of motivational factors for women entrepreneurs of Ludhiana city

Abstract

The present study was undertaken to study the motivational factors viz encouraging factors and discouraging factors to take up the selected enterprise viz beauty parlours, boutiques, play schools, florists and nursery schools. Two hundred women represented the total sample of the study. An interview schedule was used to collect the data. The results indicated that majority of the respondents were middle aged, graduate, married, had family size of 4 members, were from business class and had monthly income between Rs. 20001–40000. Family income supplementation was the major encouraging factor with mean score of 2.87 while labour problem was the major discouraging factor with a mean score 1.76.
