Abstract

The National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) aims at enhancing the livelihood security of the people in rural areas by guaranteeing hundred days of wage employment in a financial year, to a rural household whose members volunteer to do unskilled manual work. The present study was conducted in randomly selected four villages of Bikaner panchayat samiti. Beneficiaries were selected through probability proportionate to sample size (PPS). 120 beneficiaries constituted the sample size. The findings regarding impact of the NREGA revealed that major impacts of NREGA were perceived by the beneficiaries in the aspects like social, economic and security etc.
