India, lags behind on milk quality front. A hilistic approach is necessary to understand the factors inflrencing milk quality. Women mainly are involved in milking and collection of fodder. Men are involved in grazing, feeding and marketing of milk. Awareness about clean milk production and quality of milk was ton. Dairy co-operatives seemed to be important centers for promoting clean milk production. Supporting traditional dairy farmers' communities would help in improving quality of milk.
