The study was undertaken in randomly selected two villages from Hisar district of Haryana State. Purposive sample of 50 women and adolescent girls who were interested in attending training on tie and dye was selected from each village which constituted the final sample of 100 respondents for present study. The selected respondents were imparted five day training in a batch of 25 participants. Existing knowledge of respondents regarding tie and dye was quite low as it ranged between 0.00 to 33.80 percent. Respondents had no knowledge about four techniques of resist dyeing which were marbling, pegging and clipping, strip & check effect and tritlik work. Gain in knowledge of the respondents was maximum regarding amount of material required (86.20%) followed by names of resist dyeing materials (72.20%), precautionary measures (71.00%).
