The purpose of this article is to update the dentists about the management of pregnant patients during minor oral surgical procedures. The article discusses the normal changes associated with pregnancy, general considerations in the care of pregnant patients, the risks of various medications to the mother and fetus, appropriate timing of oral and maxillofacial surgery during pregnancy and possible dental complications of pregnancy and their management.
