Nanotechnology has currently taken the research in medical and dental field to the next pedestal. It is estimated to change health care by serving as a novel method for diagnosis, prevention, drug delivery, and gene therapy. One such effective tool, which facilitates in diagnosis and therapeutics, is nanobiopsy. Although a biopsy has been traditionally employed for definitive diagnosis, nanobiopsy is the choice of modern technology. Nanobiopsy, a nanotechnology-based device interrogates an individual cell without sacrificing them and follows the principle of scanning ion conductance microscopy. Furthermore, it facilitates the researcher to take repeated samples and study the disease at the molecular level when compared to routine techniques. This review highlights the importance of nanobiopsy and its scope.
