An investigation was undertaken at Agricultural Research Station, Palghar, District Palghar, Maharashtra State during rabi season of 2010–11 to study the effect of organic manures and foliar nutrition on growth and yield of brinjal. The application of vermicompost and spraying of 0.5 per cent at 30 and 45 days after transplanting in brinjal recorded the highest plant height (113.50 cm), 4.56 branches per plant. with large sized fruits. The plant spread, fruit weight, length and diameter did not differ significantly due to combined effect of organic manures and foliar spray. The significantly maximum fruit yield (1.54 kg plant−1 and 346.65 q ha−1) was recorded in M2T3 treatment i.e. application of vermicompost and spraying of 0.5 per cent 19:19:19 NPK at 30 days and 45 days after transplanting.
