Air pollution is increasing day by day. Exhaust pipe emission from vehicles is a major contributor to the problem. The study aimed at observing the impact of exhaust pipe emissions from 4-stroke petrol using vehicle and a diesel using public transport vehicle. The impact was seen on the haematological parameters of a male albino rat. Bleeding and clotting time showed decrease while total erythrocyte count and haemoglobin showed increase. Total leucocyte count showed decrease, some variations were also observed in differential count. Blood glucose and blood urea level were also found to be raised in exhaust-exposed animals as compared to control animals. Results showed overall deteriorating health condition of experimental animals indicating a possible health deteriorating situation under similar condition to higher mammals including human beings.
