The present study is aimed to access the lethal concentration and safe limits of carbamate (50% W.D.P.) and fenvalerate (20 EC) for which test has been conducted for 96 hrs in freshwater fish, Channa punctatus which has much nutritional value. The LC50 of carbamate is 17.41 mg/l and of fenvalerate is 2.13 μl/l. The results indicate that synthetic pyrethroid fenvalerate is more toxic than carbamate for freshwater fish, Channa punctatus. Fish showed abnormal behaviour exposed to test chemical.
