Abstract

Plant biodiversity was surveyed in the campus of 200 yr old British Residency of Nizam State of Hyderabad. The total number of plant species recorded was 121 and the number of families recorded was 44. These 121 plants were categorized as wild, cultivated, medicinal and ornamental plants. This plant biodiversity helped to assess the habitat structure and environmental health of this ecosystem indicating that the flora is existing without any much change in the plant biodiversity since last 450 yr when the Nizam state was farmed.
