The Uranium mining mineralization is confined to schistose rocks of Singhbhum thrust belt. There are many serious issues associated with Uranium mining, including the production of millions of tones of tailing, radiation risks to the workers and environmental contamination. The Physico-chemical properties of water have been studied to evaluate the suitability of water for irrigation and domestic purpose. The nature of water is found to be alkaline. The cationic chemistry is dominated by Na and Mg (Na>Mg>Ca>K). The calculated values of Sodium Absorption Ratio (SAR) and % Na indicated the suitability of water for domestic and irrigation purpose. Most of the parameters of water quality are found to within the maximum permissible limit of World Heath Organization (WHO, 1984) for domestic, irrigation and agriculture purpose.
