Clinical trial survey report of ampucare done on patients with different wounds

Abstract

A clinical trial survey of patients treated with ampucare, was conducted by our research centre. The main objective was to check the efficacy and wound healing trend of ampucare in patients suffering from diabetic leg ulcer, venous ulcer, arterial ulcer, burns, cellulitis, traumatic wounds, post-operative wounds and bedsores. For this purpose Forty patients, male (n=29) and female (n=11) were selected with age ranging from 18–70 years in the case of male volunteers and 20–68 years old, in the case of female volunteers. Inclusion criteria were (1) Subjection of legal age (2) Written consent of the volunteer (3) Washout period of one week and (4) Whether immunized for tetanus in the last 5 years. Exclusion criteria were (1) Osteomyelitis underlying ulcer (2) Discharge of bile, pancreatic, or intestinal secretion and (3) Malignancy in ulcer. Current drug therapy, date of randomization, persistance and location of wounds etc. were some of the other factors which were taken into account while conducting these clinical trials. Each patient was given a code number PN1 to PN40. They were categorized into 8 categories i.e., diabetic leg ulcer (n=25), venous ulcer (n=06), arterial ulcer (n=02), burn cases (n=01), traumatic wounds (n=02), cellulitis (n=01), post operative wounds (n=01) and bedsores (n=02). Persistance of wound ranged from 14 to 108 weeks in the case of diabetic leg ulcer; 10 to 60 weeks in the case of venous ulcer and from 36 to 75 weeks in the case of arterial ulcer. Slough was absent or yellow, white or green in color. Most of the wounds had cavity and infections. Initial size (area in cm2) of the wound was measured and served as control and area of the wound after every week was recorded. Results obtained were wonderful and proved the miraculous healing efficacy of ampucare in almost all types of non-healing wounds.
