Antifertility with histopathological effect of Clerodendron siphonanthus (R. Br.) on the ovary of female albino rats

Clerodendroon siphonanthus (R. Br.) was tested in female albino rat antifertility efficacy. Histopathological changes in the ovaries of female albino rats were observed. In a group of rats treated with crude powder, hot water extract and alcoholic extract of C. siphonanthus (R. Br.) caused degenerative changes. At higher doses the nuclear pyknosis, reduction in developing follicle and degeneration in the antric follicle were observed. Female rats were treated with crude powder at higher doses i.e. 50 and 75 mg/kg. Alchoholic extract affected the leucocytic-infiltration at higher dose i.e. 75 mg/kg.
